Summary

The Apprentice Level 7 is a developmental position within the CBS Accounting Services Team. In this apprenticeship you will work 5 days a week, inclusive of 1 day a week for study at Kaplan Financial. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a professional accountancy qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Completing Month End Activities to assist with production of monthly financial statements.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external and internal customers, other finance disciplines and work teams.
  • Cost analysis and preparation of variance explanations through investigation and communication with the wider business.
  • Assist with the monthly forecasting process for CBS Europe.
  • Make accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects within the team.

Course contents

  • Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner.  Adapt communications to suit different  situations, individuals or teams.
  • Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
  • Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others.  Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles  to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

    Apprentices will work towards completing a level 7 Accountancy or taxation professional apprenticeship. 1 day a week for study at Kaplan Financial - Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.

    GCSE in:

    • English (grade 4)
    • Math's (grade 4)
    • AAT (grade Pass)
