The successful apprentice will work as part of a small team, providing accountancy support to various clients.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Assisting with:

  • Business accounts preparation
  • Book-keeping
  • VAT and administrative work for Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Nominal reconciliations
  • Posting journals

Training will be given in using various systems including Xero, Sage, Quick Books, Excel and Word.

Training in accounts production software will also be given to the successful candidate.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade C/4)
  • Maths (grade C/4)
  • AAT L2 (grade Pass)
