Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Tasks will include, weighbridge operation, customer service, invoice reconciliation, filing and telephone switchboard operation
- Weighbridge operation: Our aggregates quarry in Worth Matravers serves as a material collection and disposal location. Vehicles are booked into site via a computer based ticketing system.
- Telephone switchboard operation: the business has many phones calls per day ranging from the general public ordering materials, accounts queries, customer feedback, commercial customers ordering or paying account
- Filing of vehicle records, weighbridge tickets, invoicing, timesheets, worksheets. Most of which is electronic

- The apprentice will work towards attaining the Business Administrator - Level 3 Apprenticeship with one day a week training at Weymouth College (term-time only)
- This could be reduced during the apprenticeship to bi-weekly attendance (term-time only), depending on prior agreement between the employer and the training provider
- Functional Skills English and Maths if required

You will be required to attend an interview and assessment at Weymouth College prior to your application being passed on.
