Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

To give the successful candidate a wide scope of experience, their 15 month apprenticeship will be split across two teams within the marketing department. They will spend the first half of their apprenticeship within a client facing team, where they will get to understand that particular sector and how we plan and deliver marketing initiatives to achieve their business objectives.

The second half of the apprenticeship will be sat in a specialist team within our centres of excellence model. These teams’ support campaigns across the whole business, delivering in-house capabilities across brand, content, design, digital marketing and social media. By sitting centrally, it ensures there is a level of governance across the whole of Savills brand across all of the markets we work in.

You should finish your apprenticeship with an understanding of:

  • Business understanding and commercial awareness
  • The concepts of brand positioning and management
  • The role of a company’s vision and values
  • The target audience’s decision making process and how that can influence marketing activities
  • The features and benefits of different marketing channels and media, both digital and offline
  • Insights to marketing systems and software which help deliver marketing outcomes efficiently, for example to analyse data, produce reports and project management
  • The importance of clear briefs and project management
  • Stakeholder management

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Supporting the production and distribution of marketing materials, e.g. digital, print and video content as appropriate
  • Proofreading project briefs and giving confident presentations
  • Engaging and collaborating with a wide range of clients/stakeholders, across departments internally and with clients/suppliers externally to support marketing outcomes as required
  • Coordinating marketing activities and events
  • Effectively managing and liaising with internal and external stakeholders including, suppliers to deliver required outcomes

Course contents
  • Coordinate and maintain key marketing channels (both digital and offline)
  • Plan and deliver tactical campaigns against SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) objectives
  • Manage the production and distribution of marketing materials, e.g. digital, print and video content as appropriate
  • Produce a wide range of creative and effective communications, including ability to write and proofread clear and innovative copy, project briefs, and give confident presentations
  • Able to engage and collaborate with a wide range of clients/stakeholders, across departments internally and with clients/suppliers externally to support marketing outcomes as required
  • Use good project and time management to deliver projects/tasks/events as appropriate, effectively. Including the ability to divide time effectively between reporting, planning and delivery
  • Coordinate several marketing campaigns/projects/events to agreed deadlines
  • Effectively liaise with, and manage, internal and external stakeholders including suppliers to deliver required outcomes
  • Monitor project budgets within their scope of work using appropriate systems and controls
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by choosing the appropriate digital and offline data sources
  • Assimilate and analyse data and information from a range of sources to support marketing activities
  • Evaluate data and research findings to derive insights to support improvements to future campaigns
  • Effectively use appropriate business systems and software to deliver marketing outcomes efficiently, for example to analyse data, produce reports and deliver copy
  • Use appropriate technologies to deliver marketing outcomes e.g. digital/web analytics, social media, CRM
  • Your training plan

    Marketing Executive Level 4. On the job training is provided to ensure all the required knowledge and experience is obtained throughout the apprenticeship to qualify successfully.

    GCSE in:

    • English and Maths (grade C / Level 4 or above)
