Summary

We are seeking an individual to be trained in the basics of accounting and bookkeeping as well as using accountancy software and costing. Being part of the team, you will to learn all these skills in the context of a multi-million pound organisation.

The full time salary will be between £12,347 and £16,591 - which will be pro-rated for term time working. The salary will be based on age and experience.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Filing; electronic and paper

Petty cash control and banking

Assist in the cashless payment system in the Academy, including dealing with payments, queries etc. for example for lunch payments, trips, Duke of Edinburgh

Process orders and deliveries

Chase up orders and invoices and deal with queries

Assist in monitoring levels of stationery and suppliesRespond to requests from colleagues and external stakeholders.

Carry out routine administrative tasks including word processing, data entry, scanning, photocopying and filing.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
