Summary

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join Imago Venue's as a finance apprentice. You will provide support to the financial accountant and finance team whilst working towards your L2 AAT qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Maintain a proactive and timely credit control function
  • Chase customers for payment via telephone and email
  • Producing aged debtor reports, issuing statements and sorting any queries as required
  • Processing of account application forms and credit checking using an online reference agency
  • Assist with ongoing credit risk reviews
  • Attend weekly debtors and creditors meetings
  • Cash management
  • Active credit control duties and monitor debtor function
  • Reconciliation of company bank accounts & balance sheet control accounts
  • Input of manual sales journals
  • Inputting of deposits received
  • Providing support on purchase ledger including data input
  • Checking and responding to telephone/email queries
  • General administrative duties e.g. scanning and filing
  • Raise sales invoices and credit notes
  • Maintain orders on the procurement system and deal with queries

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

    Qualification:

    • Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Accounts or Finance Assistant
    • Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting

    Delivery Method:

    • Day release at Loughborough College
    • Trainer/Assessor visits in the workplace

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    • English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
