A fantastic opportunity has become available to join Druids Lodge Polo Club, based just outside of Salisbury, to complete the Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship. Accommodation is also available.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties will include all aspects of horse care, e.g:

  • Grooming
  • Mucking out
  • Trimming and clipping
  • Plaiting
  • Lunging training
  • Riding and exercise of horses
  • Health care
  • Feeding
  • Assisting with customer care and experience

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship
  • All training will be done at the employer's premises with the employer and supported by Sheldrake Training
  • If you have not achieved grade 4/C or above in maths and English already, Sheldrake Training will support you to complete Functional Skills in these qualifications at Level 2 (equivalent to grade 4 GCSE)
