Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
An exciting opportunity to score out a career with the highly skilled team in a well-equipped maintenance workshop at this fast-growing distribution firm which specialises in the UK’s ambient grocery sector.
Role responsibilities will include: -
· Design, manufacture and installation of a variety of on-site metal fabricated items such as protective barriers, doors, gates, fixtures in warehouses.
· Accident repair of Boughey’s approx. 365-strong fleet of quality trailers which travel up and down the UK every day.
· Other general maintenance around the site, including some electrical and mechanical repairs (full training will be given).
· Part of Boughey team taking responsibility for site’s high health and safety standards and excellent track record.
· Playing part in keeping workshop and general site clean, tidy and a pleasant place to work.

Your training plan
The candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full standard as a Metal Fabricator. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West.
If you do not already hold GCSEs at grade A-D / 8-4 in English and Maths you will complete Functional Skills in the related subjects to attain Level 2 Functional Skills.
