Summary

Lubrizol has an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Apprenticeship based at our European Technical Centre in Hazelwood, Derbyshire. You will complete a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (Electrical Pathway) Apprenticeship over 4 years, receiving on the job training and necessary support.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You will be working in a department which involves a wide range of engineering activities, from building and fabricating automotive test rigs and maintaining associated plant services to ensuring the safe and timely completion of engineering work whilst maintaining excellent customer service.

You will begin your career working in a Research & Development environment supporting engine and component testing of products. Working as a member of our talented teams you’ll gain valuable real-world experience in electrical and control system operational support and maintenance to support a busy test department. The role will provide practice at a range of skills from maintaining electrical equipment through to developing control systems. The nature of the work encourages problem solving and developing solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

• To work with experienced Engineers and Technicians to support the maintenance of existing equipment and implementation of new test equipment
• To communicate accurately and effectively with others on technical issues
• To work safely, comply with the company HS&E policies, practices and procedures and to suggest areas for improvement

Essential qualifications

A Level or equivalent in:

  • Engineering (grade Pass)
  • Maths (grade C)
  • Physics (grade C)
