Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Helping in preparation of all dishes
- Kitchen tasks, peeling, storing, cleaning, preparing
- Learning how to present dishes
- Helping in preparation of desserts and pastries
- Making, stocks, soups and sauces
- Fridge management
- Receiving and storing provisions
- All cleaning tasks

About this company
The Nevill Arms is first and foremost a local pub. We have a relaxed and informal atmosphere, we are independently owned and we use local suppliers. We offer fresh home cooked food, with daily deliveries of fresh meat, fruit, vegetables and fish. We have a large array of tables where we can accommodate over 130 guests in comfort. A private dining area, which seats up to 30 people.
After this apprenticeship
- On completion of the Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship the successful candidate may be given the opportunity to progress to further develop their career at The Nevill Arms.
