Summary

Are you enthusiastic & passionate & have a keen interest in Dance, sport & developing children’s physical ability. We are looking for someone that can plan & deliver fun, safe & engaging activities to children. During term time deliver dance sessions in schools & pre-schools & school holidays you will be involved in leading a themed activity/camp.

Annual wage
£13,000 a year

Salary up to £17,000 dependent on experience.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Adhere to company processes and procedures whilst the children are in your care, ensuring the children have a fun, engaging and safe time
  • To plan and prepare inclusive, dynamic and exciting sport sessions
  • To plan activities and deliver fun, safe and engaging football sessions for our Football Development programme
  • To aid senior staff with administrative duties
  • To organise & lead holiday club provisions
  • To deliver fun and exciting preschool sessions to children age between 2-4
  • To maintain high standards of provisions offered by IG Sports Ltd
  • Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active lifestyles

Course contents
  • Planning and adapting sessions and activities that respond to customer feedback and encourage customers to develop a lifelong activity habit.
  • Coaching or leading pre-planned sport or physical activity sessions that are attractive to the target audience(s) and develop motivational relationships with customers.
  • Promoting a physical activity offer, (including but not exclusively) organised play and sport in the community which supports individuals on their behaviour change journey.
  • Working collaboratively with sports clubs and other community assets – including volunteers, public services, youth workers, the police and community champions.
  • Supporting customers to co-produce rewarding volunteering opportunities.
  • Supporting families to participate together in sport and physical activity.
  • Working effectively with customer insight to overcome individual, community and societal barriers to participation in physical activity and sport.
  • Contributing to the employer’s design of activities and services and practising the employer’s organisation’s values, policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to teams that deliver community events and festivals.
  • Supporting organisations to evaluate, develop and promote sessions and other opportunities such as outdoor group exercise and informal social play.
  • Maintaining personal safety and wellbeing, as well as that of customers.
  • Managing disruptive behaviours from individuals within the group setting.
  • Encouraging customers to be regularly active – both formally and informally – within sports clubs or leisure facilities including open-space.
  • Effectively using social media and technology, appropriately, to deliver targeted messages to identified customer groups for example children, teenagers, adults and older adults.
  • Effectively monitor and evaluate activities, sessions and projects using technology platforms to maintain accurate records and produce timely reports.
  • Your training plan

    • You will receive a Community Activator Level 2 award 
      On successful completion of this apprenticeship, the Community Activator Coach will be eligible to become an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and
      Physical Activity (CIMSPA)
    • Training will take place within the workplace with a blend of online learning & face-to-face assessment visits.

    • Maths (grade 4)

    Other requirements

    Applicants should have a basic knowledge of dance / cheer leading. Travel will be required to various schools and locations across Frome, Somerset.

    About this company

    We aspire to provide fun, safe & innovative coaching to develop the sport stars of the next generation and give them sporting memories they can hold onto. We have a team of qualified and experienced coaches that delivers over 100 hours of high quality coaching per week across primary schools & first schools. We provide breakfast clubs, lunchtime clubs, PPA cover, P.E Lessons, WOW days, 1-2-1 intervention sessions, after school clubs & sports day planning. We also deliver a wide range of sport specific sessions in local pre-schools & nurseries for children aged between 2-4. IG Sports coaching also runs sporting activities outside of school hours, such as our football development & birthday parties. During the school holidays we host our very own holiday clubs and camps which are open to children of all abilities aged between 5 – 11 yrs. Children can engage in & enjoy fundays, sport camps & themed event days in a fun, safe & exciting environment.
