Summary

We have a great opportunity to join Torr Waterfield as a Data Admin Apprentice, this is a role within the company where you will be responsible for the general administrative and Data tasks. The successful candidate will be working towards a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship Qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Answer the telephone (you are first point of contact)
  • Meet & greet clients
  • Data entry utilising Microsoft excel
  • Bookkeeping
  • Monitor financial payments from customers weekly utilising excel
  • Check everyone’s diaries and allocate appointments to meeting rooms
  • Open and distribute post –
  • Enter cheques onto cash diary spreadsheet and Sage
  • Chase back minutes and dividend vouchers outstanding from clients
  • Send minutes/ordinary resolutions documents back to clients that hold stat books
  • Recording card payments/worldpay payments on cash diary spreadsheet, print off and store in separate folders.
  • Update timesheets and print monthly WIP reports, email to staff

  • Source and migrate data from already identified different sources.
  • Collect, format and save datasets.
  • Summarise and explain gathered data.
  • Blend data sets from multiple sources and present in format appropriate to the task.
  • Manipulate and link different data sets as required.
  • Use tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply basic statistical methods and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply cross checking techniques for identifying faults and data results for data project requirements.
  • Audit data results.
  • Demonstrate the different ways of communicating meaning from data in line with audience requirements.
  • Produce clear and consistent technical documentation using standard organisational templates.
  • Store, manage and distribute in compliance with data security standards and legislation.
  • Explain data and results to different audiences in a way that aids understanding.
  • Review own development needs.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies, trends and innovation using a range of sources.
  • Clean data i.e. remove duplicates, typos, duplicate entries, out of date data, parse data (e.g. format telephone numbers according to a national standard) and test and assess confidence in the data and its integrity.
  • Operate as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Prioritise within the context of a project.

    • Functional Skills maths and English (if required)
    • Apprenticeship training will be delivered online from our Head office Wise Origin College
    • Full support from the tutor for the duration of the Apprenticeship
    • Training schedule has yet to be agreed upon, further details will be made available at a later date

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    • English (grade 4/C)
    • Maths (grade 4/C)
