Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As a nursery apprentice you will be expected to:
- Build good relationships with children, parents, and your colleagues
- Safeguard all children in our care
- Ensure that children are in a safe environment and that their needs are met
- Observe, monitor, and engage children in activities that will support their development in all the 7 areas of learning

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
- The qualification you'll receive at the end of your training will be an NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator
- Functional skills if required
- Paediatric first aid qualification
- The apprentice will do their training at the nursery premises and online
- The training will be one day a week

Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 4)
- ICT (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)

After this apprenticeship
Upon successfully completing your apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position at one of our nursery sites as a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner. We also provide ongoing training which could provide opportunities to progress towards room leader, deputy manager and manager positions.
