Summary

A vacancy exists for an Apprentice Reward and Benefits Administrator who will provide administrative support to the Reward Manager. You will learn all aspects of Reward and Benefits administration and grow your knowledge and expertise so you can provide advice and technical administration support.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Responding to routine reward and benefits queries, raised by colleagues, through our dedicated Reward Inbox
  • Monthly benefits administration and reporting. This will involve the preparation and upload of data, liaising with external providers and invoice reconciliation
  • Liaising with benefits providers to establish the most suitable packages
  • Liaising with the Payroll team to ensure salary, pensions and benefits-related administration is progressed accurately, and in a timely way, to meet monthly deadlines
  • Periodically, producing bulk mailings/communications relating to Rewards and Benefits and other ad-hoc letter distribution
  • Promoting colleague and manager self-service, using the various HR, Reward and Benefits systems and Apps available
  • Supporting the Reward Manager with maintaining systems, including the company Intranet and Employee App updates
  • Processing invoices for suppliers and external agencies
  • Being the first point of contact for administration of RecogniseYu, our Peer-to-Peer recognition scheme
  • Supporting the Reward Manager with benchmarking of salaries and benefit packages
  • Supporting with Market Research in relation to Benefits and Rewards
  • Supporting the ongoing communication of benefits across the organisation to raise awareness and increase usage
  • Gaining understanding and knowledge of Payroll administration processes to support when required

  • Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
  • Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
  • Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
  • Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.
  • Your training plan

    Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship standard.

    This programme includes:

    • Foundation Certificate in People Practice L3

    You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

    You will experience a blended learning model.

    This programme is delivered via a day-release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Derby Road campus (NG18). This attendance is required during term time only.

    You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

    At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End-Point Assessment to be arranged.

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English (grade 4/C)
    • Maths (grade 4/C)
