Summary

The technician is responsible for the testing of client’s products to the full range of tests under the MS testing schedule of accreditation. They shall understand and be able to execute the test process (booking in, test plan, test piece checks, testing and draft report generation) from start to finish in a time efficient manner.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • The technician is responsible for the testing of client’s products to the full range of tests under the MS testing schedule of accreditation
  • They shall be able to book in the project, determine what tests are required and execute them to the correct standard and procedures
  • Ensure that all critical, relevant performance is monitored and recorded and all paperwork is completed to a high level
  • Be able to setup the clients equipment from their operating / installation manuals
  • Perform high temperature, low temperature, vibration, electromagnetic compatibility testing, ingress protection testing etc.
  • Be able to compile test reports after testing has been completed
  • Shall be customer facing when necessary. Greeting clients when onsite and performing testing whilst accompanied by them in some cases
