Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Steel banding with pneumatic banding gun
  • Quality asses all finished product
  • Operate crane to manoeuvre bundles of tube
  • Slinging operation
  • Booking bundles of tube out within internal Techmes computer system
  • Check tally sheets to ensure they are correct
  • Check size and gage of finished product with micrometre
  • Mechanically set Alpha cut (changing of cutting blades for the saw)
  • Assist the maintenance teams by communicating any breakdowns
  • Support contractor control onsite
