Summary

Hull and East Yorkshire Mind Ltd are looking to recruit a Customer Service apprentice. The Apprentice will provide reception cover, answer telephone, meet and greet customers and cover general administration duties. This role is to work within the Administration and Volunteering team for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind Ltd.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Liaising with volunteers regarding enquiries 
  • Updating and maintaining records 
  • General administration duties
  • Using the telephone
  • Creating orders
  • Supporting the team to maintain staff training records
  • Using Microsoft Packages 
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are tidy each morning
  • Distribute incoming mail
  • Ordering Stationery/Supplies

  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

    You will be undertaking the following:

    • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner
    • Functional Skills in maths, English & IT (if required)
    • Regular training and development to meet the needs of the employer and the apprentice

    Desirable qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English and Maths (grade A*-C/ 9-4 GCSE or equivalent)

    Applicant must attend HTAE initial assessment and interview process to be considered for shortlisting by the company, you will be contacted by a member of staff to get booked in. Our recruitment sessions are held at Craven Park Training and Enterprise Centre, Poorhouse Lane, Hull, HU9 5HE so please make sure you are travel to this location.
