Summary
The Florrie is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Events Assistant to join and work as a key member of our Events Team. You will play a pivotal role in our Events Team and take weekly event instructions from our Chief Operations Officer in the planning and delivery of all events. This will also include Florrie fundraising events.

This is always a day job and requires the apprentice to work occasional evenings and weekends according to our business needs. Therefore, times and days will differ from week to week. The Florrie operates a time-in-lieu system.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Assist with the day-to-day room-style arrangements for The Florrie and 3rd party event bookings.
- Prepare and neatly layout refreshments of tea, coffee, water, juice & biscuits in preparation for the arrival of guests to events.
- Delivering events on time and ensuring you do all you can to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Carefully read, follow and confirm (tick) each instruction on the Event Preparation Plans.
- Remain active and alert to customers’ requests throughout their entire event and communicate any issues or complaints to our Events Coordinator or COO.
- To politely provide customers with post-event feedback forms and request their response.
- Thoroughly wipe and clean all tables (round & trestle) post-event, in preparation for the next event.
- Ensure clean and empty bins, inclusive of bin liners are in place for every event.
- Dispose of all general and green rubbish & waste during and post-event.
- Think and plan ahead for the next event in every room, ensuring they’re clean and presentable at all times.
- Assist with post-event clear downs, re-sets, cleaning and washing all jugs, cups and cutlery.
- NOTE: regardless of the time, all items must be washed and put away in their correct place.
- Ensuring to put back all event-related items, e.g. jugs, urns, cutlery, napkins etc in their correct place, so that everyone knows exactly where things are.
- Regularly restock event Refreshment trolleys with all required items.
- Inform our Events Coordinator when Refreshment and Food stock items are low and require reordering.
- All responsibilities require administration duties which will comply with your apprenticeship
