Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

We are seeking Classroom Assistants to join our rapidly expanding team
You will work alongside the Teacher, Lead Assistant and other Classroom Assistants as a member of the class team in order to deliver an appropriate curriculum within a secure, appropriately stimulating and nurturing environment.
Classroom Assistants are responsible to the teacher in the group
Classroom Assistants provide classroom support to children, supporting all elements of learning, emotional well-being, communication, behaviour and personal care
You will be working with our infant children, our classes each have 9 children

Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the children and young people at Freemantles in all learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom

Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training
A good level of English and Maths is required

Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.

Apply methods of formative assessment.

Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.

Encourage safe use of technology by learners.

Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).

Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.

Provide feedback to learners.
