Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

We are a busy, fun, friendly and family orientated riding school, just outside Newbury. There will be plenty of opportunities to progress and develop skills, both in riding, yard work and handling horses.

Daily jobs will include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turn in /out
  • Tacking up
  • General daily care of our lovely well mannered horses

Ideally, you will have had some experience with horses. Catch, lead and tack up, muck out.

You must have a can-do attitude and high energy. This is a physical job and you are on your feet all day. A willingness to learn and develop is essential. Must be enthusiastic and committed to doing the job required first and foremost, as well as have the ability to work individually and with others.

A riding groom would be preferred but non-riding grooms are also invited to apply. However, there will be plenty of riding available on a wide range of horses for any ability. There is a chance to compete in, in house competitions and externally, the opportunity to go out off site in the lorry schooling / competing for the right individual.

NVQ and BHS qualifications are available to work towards.
