Summary

RASC is offering a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice groom to join their team. Equine groom Level 2 (GCSE).

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

General yard duties will include;

  • Mucking out
  • Tacking up and tack cleaning
  • Bringing in and turning out
  • Clipping/pulling/trimming/plaiting
  • Bathing
  • Schooling
  • Exercising horses (including lunging, horse walker, long reining)
  • Bandaging
  • Rug changing
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Paddock maintenance

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

GCSE in:

  • Maths and English (grade 4 or above)

There is no accommodation available. This role will also require working in all weather conditions so any applicant must be willing and able to do this.
