Summary

The successful candidate will be learning to work effectively as part of a team as well as on my own initiative, developing excellent communication skills. Ensuring all calls are dealt with in line with Service Level Agreements. Providing quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering insurance enquiries and identifying customer complaints.

£12,480 a year

£6.40 per hour + we offer a total of £1000 Apprentice bonus which is payable in quarterly amounts over the period of the apprenticeship subject to satisfactory performance.

Three-week rota covering opening hours. Monday - Thursday: 9.00am - 6.00pm Friday: 9.00am - 5.30pm, Saturday: 9.00am - 1.00pm. (Saturdays are 1-in-3).

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • You will provide first-class sales / customer service by answering any questions the customer might have about our insurance products
  • Acts as a liaison between customer and insurer, expertly arranging and selling to customers that meet their demands and needs
  • Learning to work effectively as part of a team as well as on own initiative, developing excellent communication skills
  • Ensuring all calls are dealt with in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Providing quality customer service
  • Interacting with customers, answering insurance enquiries
  • Effectively identifying customer complaints
  • Follow up with any clients to make sure that they are satisfied with product
  • Always looks for new ways to make products attractive to customers
  • Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Your main duties would include providing insurance quotations, using our bespoke IT system, including medical screening for our elderly customers; therefore, it is essential that any candidate has excellent customer service and communication skills, patience, empathy and attention to detail

Course contents
  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

    Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeship includes:

    • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
    • Work based delivery of Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
    • Full company induction including health and safety
    • 20% off-the-job time will be given for study / assignments
    • Monthly contact session with your PV trainer
    • Internal training provided by your employer and workplace mentor
    • Training schedule has yet to be agreed upon, further details will be made available at a later date

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English and Mathematics (grade C/4)
