Shop hours are Monday - Saturday: 9.30am - 5.30pm. Sunday/Bank Holidays: 11.00am - 4.00pm. Working days: 5 days per week. You will be required to work weekends. Exact shifts to be confirmed.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Morning duties will involve opening the shop and removing the security measures needed for night-time closure
  • Cleaning duties are performed daily to ensure the shop is looking pristine, which stops clothing getting marked or dirty
  • Stock checking, organising, tidying and refilling is a continual job throughout the day, both on the shop floor and stock rooms
  • Organise alterations to go to the seamstress and contact customers when they are bought back

All these duties are done around the customers coming into the shop
customers always take priority over any other duties.

  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
