This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful engineering business that installs and maintains milling parlors as their new apprentice. The role will involve installation, maintenance and repairing of milking parlor systems.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Installation of robotic and automated milling parlors
- Maintenance of robotic and automated milling parlors
- Repair and fault finding of robotic and automated milling parlors
- Installation dairy and cooling equipment
- Fault find dairy and cooling equipment
- Resolve any technical issues
- Problem analysis
- Rectifying issues
- Installation of automated monitoring equipment of dairy herds behaviour - fertility, environment, health & milk production

- You will be expected to work towards the Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Level 3, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group
- Your day release will be at our Derby centre on Pride Park.
- As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English
Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship - Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications

Potential for long days with early starts and late finishes to meet customer needs. Must have a driving license due to requirements of the role Ideally over 18 due to nature of the role Interest in computing and electrical systems - more equipment is now automated and run by control panels and system so previous experience/knowledge of electrical controls or programming would be needed

Bayley’s also offers a monthly on-farm delivery/consultation service working with dairy farmers to find solutions to the routine dairy hygiene challenges they face such as high SCC, bactoscan and mastitis incidence whilst providing them with additional dairy/dairy chemical supplies which are required to run their unit.
