Summary

This is a full-time on-site role for a Welder / Fabricator located in West Bromwich, however you will also be required to attend the college. The Welder/Fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics, and fabricating and welding parts to specification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

1. Cutting material to appropriate lengths / as per job sheet

2. Reading and interpreting technical blue prints

3. Fabricating and Welding Parts to specification

4. Quality control tests and checks

5. Ensure parts meet the required standard

6. Follow Health and Safety requirements

Apprentices without Level 1 (or equivalent) in English and maths must ensure that apprentices achieve Level 1 and take the test for Level 2 prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
