This apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to work for Top Dressage riders at the Olympic level. Live-in position preferred. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Classic Dressage are looking for someone who enjoys the handling and grooming side of the job, there will be some riding but this role is aimed at those aspiring competition grooms out there, who want the experience of working with and handling a range of top-class horses to include youngstock and stallions.
There may be the opportunity to attend national and international shows for the right individual. Live in a position with excellent accommodation.
You will be required to complete general duties to include:
- Turning out/bringing in
- Tack cleaning
- Tacking up
- Feeding
- Filling hay nets
- Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
- Mucking Out
- Rug changing
- Schooling
- Riding
- First aid
- Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
This apprenticeship allows you to learn from top trainers in the industry up to the Olympic Level. There is also a shop on site and the possibility of attending trade fairs.

Training schedule has yet to be agreed upon, details will be made available at a later date.
The apprenticeship is based onsite in a practical setting so not lots of time sitting in the classroom. If you did not achieve your Maths & English GCSE's at school we can support you to gain these whilst on programme.
In order to apply for this role you have to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more.
