Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The Chef & Brewer Collection brings together 141 beautiful, cosy country-style pubs, based in England and Wales. As an Apprentice Chef you don't need to have tons of experience in a kitchen, though it can help. We'll teach you everything you need... All you need is a willingness to learn, a genuine love for all things food and the passion to create amazing dishes.

Responsibilities included in this role:
-Prepare, cook and present food to company specification
-Keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
-Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues
-Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions
-Adhere to company policies and procedures and licensing laws
-Be involved and contribute at all team meetings
What your apprenticeship includes
- A mixture of face to face and skype/phone catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
- A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
- Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
- The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)
- A Production Chef Qualification once you have completed the 15 month programme
At Greene King, you will be working towards your Productional Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification over the course of 15 months.
