Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The Business Development Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:
- Learning about the company systems, products, services & procedures
- Providing office support including customer support
- Keeping well-organised files
- Sending emails when needed
- Researching company data for possible potential customers
- Keeping computer databases up to date
- Interacting with clients on the phone when needed
- Answering phones and connecting calls to the intended departments
- Following up on outstanding communications
- Collecting and inputting company data
- Educating clients about what products/services are available
- Building relationships with clients
- Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments
- Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
- Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade C/4)
- Maths (grade C/4)
