Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by providing great service and aftercare.
  • Perform planned maintenance and respond to breakdown calls on customer equipment according to company procedures.
  • Communicate daily with the Business Operations Department to determine the work schedule.
  • Prioritise and attend to all breakdowns efficiently and cost-effectively within 48 hours unless otherwise agreed.
  • Conduct all contract servicing as scheduled, ensuring the most cost-effective work program.
  • Follow service, repair, and installation method statements for products.
  • Install equipment according to British and European standards, adhering to safety guidelines and client instructions.
  • Record all work carried out electronically or on service forms, ensuring customer approval for completed work.
  • Submit daily service report forms to head office for invoicing purposes.
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly reports of time worked and expenses incurred.
  • Be prepared to work anywhere in the UK or abroad as required.
  • Represent Ecolab professionally with customers.

The role is evolving to include more fieldwork. As a result:
The expected work week will be a minimum of 50 hours.
Travel time will be compensated.
This change reflects the increased time spent working in the field and traveling to various locations.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

Full clean driving license. No allergies to Penicillin. Local travel required initially, and further travel required as the course progresses. As role evolves more into the field, minimum 50 hours per week, as travel time will be paid for
