Summary

A Level 3 Insurance Broker is required. This is a fantastic opportunity to enter the Insurance Sector and develop a rewarding career as an Insurance Broker. This apprenticeship aims to provide you with all the tools, qualifications and support necessary to launch a thriving career with our business. Duties include: building and maintaining ongoing relations with clients, and taking information from clients to enable assessment of their insurance needs and risk profile.

£15k to £19k depending on experience with the opportunity for further increase as the candidate progresses through their training.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As an Apprentice Insurance Broker, you will need to complete a variety of tasks including:

  • Build and maintain ongoing relations with clients
  • Take information from clients, to enable assessment of their insurance needs and risk profile
  • Research insurance companies’ policies and negotiate to find the most suitable cover
  • Ensure that clients understand the terms and cover provided
  • Manage client needs throughout the policy life to include any amendments
  • Advise clients in respect of claims and how to mitigate risk
  • Support team members with managing their client base and answering customer queries via telephone and email.

  • Recommend insurance and premiums decisions within the limits of responsibility and in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Gather and interpret relevant information to provide a return on insurance decisions.
  • Match client’s needs with available insurance products and services.
  • Optimises the potential return on insurance decisions within the scope of own role by identifying and positioning the client’s case with the insurer.

    Apprentices will work towards the Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

    • Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the Cert CII
    • Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Insurance Practitioners
    • Role-specific route ways tailor the apprenticeship to the job role:
      • Claims Handler/Loss Adjuster
      • Assistant Underwriter
      • Junior Broker
    • Free CII membership for non-members through the CII Aspire Apprenticeship Programme
    • Includes digital CII study books and exam entries
    • Resit costs for CII exams and End-Point-Assessment will be covered by the employer
    • Fortnightly workshops for each CII exam
    • All workshops recorded and available on-demand

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • 3 Additional Subjects (grade Grade 4(C))
    • English (grade Grade 4(C))
    • Maths (grade Grade 4(C))
