Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
• Day to Day will be working on the full range of Machine Mart products including Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Air, Petrol, Diesel and Electrical powered products.
• Full in house on the job training will be given along with day release and work based NVQ’s.
• Ensure that a consistently high level of service is offered to our customers.
• Have responsibility for effective operation within the service centre including H & S, security and housekeeping.
• Ensure that all job cards, spares orders, time sheets and stock notes are completed correctly and on time, and control all administration paperwork.
• Ensure that all company stock and spare parts are accounted for, and properly recorded when used. Ensure any items that may be needed at short notice are reordered without delay.
• Provide support to staff & customers with accuracy, efficiency & courtesy.
• Promote good Customer Service practices on the phone and at counter. Always represent the company in a clean and smart uniform and a courteous manner.
• Report to senior personnel any breach of security or any act of dishonesty by a member of the public, visitor or member of staff.
• Any other reasonable duties as required shared responsibilities.
• Personal training and development in conjunction with Service Manager.
• Maintain accurate records and identify sources of errors in conjunction with Aftersales Manager.
• Management of Health & Safety issues in conjunction with H & S Manager and Aftersales Manager.

Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.
This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering campus, NG17. This attendance is required during term time only.
- You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
- You will experience a blended learning model.
- You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
- At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade A*/C - 9/4)
- Maths (grade A*/C - 9/4)
