Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

General Duties:

● Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment including Chromebook tracking. Keep equipment clean.
● Assist with general system administration under the guidance of the Network Manager.
● Audit staff workstations to check that they comply with DSE regulations.
● Assist in the setup of equipment for staff training, exams and collective worships plus ad hoc requests as required.
● Assist staff with the use of CCTV and download footage as required.
● Manage daily workload and prioritise requests with the support of the
Network Manager.
● Report any detected breach of the School’s IT Acceptable Use policy to the Network Manager.
● To complete installations of new & existing software packages across the network.


General tasks:

● Supporting the management of the Christ’s School network and networks of supported schools (currently one nearby primary).
● Report and perform updates on key software on the network.
● Replace consumable items such as printer toners.
● Maintain technical documents.
● Respond to helpdesk jobs and assist staff and students with any IT Support requests.
● Any other IT tasks that may be required.

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4/C and above)
  • Math (grade 4/C and above)
