Summary
We are looking for CNC Machinists and Setter Apprentices to work within our engineering team to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the requirements of a leading established manufacturer of turned parts.

The salary will be based on performance both at the training academy and workplace.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Setting and programming of work on 3 Axis and 5 Axis CNC machines
- Developing 3 and 5 axis programmes
- 2D and 3D CAD design
- Basic fitting techniques
- Grinding, benchwork and associated techniques
- Checking and inspection of work
- Understanding both in house and customer supplied engineering drawings

This is a 3 year Level 3 Machinist Apprenticeship, with the first 9 months being full time at the training provider, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG.
Level 3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge)
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Machining) (Development Technical Knowledge)

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English, Maths (grade 4/C)

Other requirements
Candidate must have an interest in engineering. The right candidate needs to be motivated and interested in developing their skills to progress further. A driving license is desirable but not essential at the beginning of the apprenticeship.
