Summary

We are looking for an Apprentice to learn general engineering skills in order to become a qualified Engineering Operative. This person must have a good attention to detail, will be an enthusiastic and committed individual who is passionate about starting a career in Engineering. Good Level of maths and able to read and write clearly.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties will include:

  • Automatic Saw Work
  • Colour Coding/Measuring/Weighing Out/Counting Out
  • Computer Work
  • General Machine Setting & Loading
  • Fork Lift Truck Driving If/When Old Enough For Licence
  • Driving If/When Old Enough For Company Van
  • Marking Of Materials/Components
  • First Off Inspection/Buddy Check Inspections
  • Use Of Verniers/Micrometres/Shadow Graphs/Gauges
