Clifton Homecare is family run and is a national living wage employer. You will receive excellent training and support to complete your apprenticeship.

Hourly rates (prior to April 2024 uplift) are between £12.00-£14.00 per hour plus 45p per mile travelled via car (unless company car used). Rates will vary dependent on age and experience.

This role will involve shift working; shifts are usually 07.00-14.00 or 16.00 -22.00. All employees are supported with alternate weekend working and every 4 weeks a long weekend off is accommodated.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The Apprenticeship role will include:
- Supporting clients to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance
- Supporting clients to manage their own medications safely, where this is not possible we administer medications
- Provide vital companionship to clients who frequently feel lonely and isolated due to living alone.

The Apprenticeship role will involve working 30-40 hours a week. There is no need to drive but applicants must be willling to learn to drive over the first 12 months of their apprenticeship, or upon turning 17 years of age.

Your training plan
- A range of training courses are provided by our internal trainers, these will be mainly face to face with som e-learning courses to also complete. All new starters receive a comprehensive induction period, consisting of classroom based and in the field training. All new starters are supported with mentoring sessions also.
- The level 2 Adult care worker Apprenticeship takes approximately 12 months to complete and will consist of assignment type work; some of which can be completed via audio and observation. Off the job learning will include a variety of training such as face to face classroom delivery, 1:1 developmental sessions, webinar attendance, conference attendance and much more.
- Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.

GCSE or equivalent in:

This vacancy involves working in the community. The applicant will be required to learn to drive during the first 12 months of the Apprenticeship or when they turn 17 years of age.
