Summary
The Hair Studio are looking for a new apprentice who is enthusiastic with good social skills, who is creative and really keen to learn. The successful candidate will be booking appointments, shampooing, conditioning, blow drying and styling hair, The apprentice will also use a range of techniques, general tidying & customer relations.

Working Hours: The successful candidate will be working 36 hours per week (5 days) between Tuesday – Saturday (exact shifts to be confirmed). With a structured salon training session once a week.
Wages: £190.08 per week, based on a 36 hour week.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The Apprentice’s Role
Duties are likely to include:
- Booking appointments
- Shampooing, conditioning, blow drying and styling hair
- Colour and lightening using a range of techniques
- General tidying
- Customer relations and Front of House
You’ll study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, alongside environmental and sustainable working practices.
There’s also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

You will be working towards your Level 2 Hair Professional qualification and additional Functional Skills if required.
Your training will predominantly take place in your workplace with some additional learning days each month and assessments taking place at Skills Group, Derrys Cross.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade Grade 9-1 equivalent to A*-G)
- Maths (grade Grade 9-1 equivalent to A*-G)
