We require someone to train across the business, including in servicing, repairs, and dismantling vehicles for our second hand stock. You will learn to meet/ greet customers, answer the telephone, and use our workshop IT system to raise estimates, job sheets and invoices. You will take payments/ order stock, and will maintain our loan cars.

What you will do in your working day
This vacancy is for a Level 3 Motor Vehicle apprenticeship, which will result in the successful candidate gaining an apprenticeship- this contains a technical certificate and an on-site qualification at Level 3, along with the associated Functional Skills.
As an Apprentice Mechanic, you’ll be working alongside an experienced mechanic and will be involved in a variety of tasks. These will include:
- Servicing and repairs.
- Replacing components using specialist equipment such as electrical and electronic diagnostics and engine tuning equipment.
- Rectifying faults on customers' vehicles.
The training you will be getting
For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
- Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling.
- Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
- Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
- Level 2 Award in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance.
Candidates should have GCSE grade 4/ C in English and Maths, or the Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent. If candidates do not have these grades, they will be expected to attend additional Functional Skills sessions. These may run on a different day to the usual college delivery. Apprentices will need to complete their Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths (if not already achieved) before they take the End Point Assessment (EPA).
For the End Point Assessment (EPA) apprentices will undertake knowledge tests, a skills test, and a professional discussion.
Apprentices are expected to attend college one day per week (term-time only) at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
A position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship. The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a position following their apprenticeship.
