Feedwater are looking to recruit an apprentice to carry out defined tasks in the chemical and micro laboratories in accordance with specified procedures. To assist in investigative analysis, the development of products and testing procedures, regulatory compliance, and to provide technical and practical support to internal and external clients.

What you will do in your working day
- Support the quality control function of our Chemical Production operation through timely sample analysis, material checks and data entry.
- Coordinate or undertake analysis (chemical and microbiological), subcontracting, logistics and reporting for water samples submitted by our field staff and clients.
- Produce analytical chemistry reports and quality certificates.
- Provide support and absence cover for Micro Lab and Lab Services, helping to ensure that clients’ analysis and sampling requirements are effectively met.
- Coordinate and carry out calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments (for example photometers, pH / conductivity meters, digital thermometers) for lab, field staff and clients.
- Support field staff and clients by providing advice on appropriate analysis and remedial actions.
- Produce small batch formulations for production stock, customer sales and field trials.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department and company through audits, checks, reviews, planning, process improvement exercises and procedure updates.
- Support knowledge development and innovation through directed lab project work and data generation.
- Undertake all assigned laboratory housekeeping tasks (such as stock management, replenishing consumables, tidying / organising workspace, sample disposal).
- Undertake and apply any training required for this role.
- Maintain good customer service by communicating clearly and ensuring that tasks allocated to you are prioritised and organised effectively.
- Ensure safety for yourself and your colleagues by completing or following risk / COSHH assessments and correctly following procedures relevant to this role.
