We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing invoices, checking statements, and preparing tax returns as well as providing Accounts Support within the office. You will also be helping and supporting clients remain financially compliant, whether that is as individuals or companies.

What you will do in your working day

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Preparing accounts and tax returns
  • Preparing basic VAT returns and submitting these on a client’s behalf
  • Auditing financial information (where applicable);
  • Preparing analysis of nominal accounts;
  • Consider tax planning services with reference to current legislation;
  • Managing your own workload and deadlines;
  • Completion of bank reconciliations;
  • Understanding and preparing sales, purchase and wages control accounts;
  • Keeping clients up to date with their business's performance.

The training you will be getting

  • The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Assistant Accountant Level 3
  • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
  • This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln/Newark College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • A permanent position on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
  • Progress to a more senior role such as Accounts Assistant, can also proceed to ACA Qualification
