What you will do in your working day
We are looking for a Gas Engineering apprentice to join the team who is technically minded and eager to listen and learn:
- You will need to have a strong work ethic and be able to work well as part of a team for the good of the team
- You will need good communication skills to provide excellent customer service to our clients
- You will learn to be confident with people and with changing work environments
We provide gas heating and plumbing services to customers in Norwich and the surrounding areas. You will learn how to cover all types of jobs, including:
- Taps and toilets
- Full heating systems
- Underfloor heating
- Bathrooms
You will be expected to work in a community- focused way, working hard and together for company to thrive and to provide the best service and care to our customers.
The training you will be getting
For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
- Level 3 Gas Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard qualification
- IGEM IG/1 Supplement 2 certification (Natural Gas)
- Gas Safe registration (mandatory requirement)
- Level 3 Matters of Gas Safety Competency Accreditation
For the End Point Assessment (EPA), apprentices will submit a completed portfolio of evidence and will undertake a 12- hour practical assessment with questioning, an interview underpinned by the portfolio and a multiple-choice knowledge test.
Upon completing the course, apprentices will receive Gas Safe registration. This is a mandatory requirement to achieve the overall qualification.
Apprentices must attend college sessions one day per week at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.
