Summary

Woods Furniture Group in Yorkshire are recruiting for an Apprentice in Wood Machining. The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Wood Machining which will take approximately 24 months.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Carry out regular machine checks at the start of each shift and report any problems to the Team Leader
  • Operate machinery in accordance with safety procedures
  • Check product requirements and materials and set up machinery
  • Ensure machines are running correctly and undertake quality checks, correcting any problems if practicable, advising the Team Leader
  • Carry out regular cleaning of machinery
  • Calculate measurements for offsets
  • Responsible for handling products and tools carefully
  • Ensuring the work area is clean, tidy and safe
  • Must meet expected speeds of production
