What you will do in your working day

From gymnast development to event coordination, you will be immersed in the dynamic world of sports and equipped with the experience and knowledge to thrive in this exciting field.  

  • Hands on coaching experience to develop coaching skills and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Assisting with managing events including, competitions, trials classes and viewing weeks.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure exceptional experiences for gymnasts and the smooth running of sessions.
  • Interact with coaches, gymnasts and parents to develop communication skills.
  • Plan and develop programs to enable the gymnasts to progress and achieve.
  • 24 hours a week in person coaching and working,  6 hours of remote learning.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

We are looking for apprentices who wish to begin their careers in the sports industry and have opportunities for part and full time employment on completion of the relevant coaching qualifications.  Apprentices will develop key employability skills and have opportunities for continuous professional development.  Apprentices can continue training and progress onto the Level 4 Sports Coach Apprentice with North East London Gymnastics Club.  We also provide opportunities to continue as a full or part time coach or progress to a managerial role within the company.

North East London Gymnastics Club is an established charitable club which runs from a dedicated facilities set in the London Borough of Hackney. The club caters for approximately 500 gymnasts each week including Pre-School, GFA, Floor and Vault, Women’s Artistic and display teams. We serve a diverse local community and this is reflected in our members. We have been in our current location for more than 15 years and seek to engage a love of gymnastics for all. Our aim is that all of our members have the opportunity to develop their skills at their own pace, nurtured and encouraged by our team.
