What you will do in your working day

Duties Include:

  • Working with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff
  • Establishing positive relationships with all pupils
  • Implementing planned learning activities, as outlined by the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils with activities which support literacy and numeracy skills
  • Promoting positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies
  • Always respecting confidentiality
  • Providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress
  • Where necessary, supporting student(s) with personal needs, including toileting, dressing, feeding etc
  • Developing the students’ self-esteem and encouraging independence

Things to consider

St Peter’s is situated in Southweald and it is not accessible by public transport. The L3 TA apprentice will attend a monthly class (full day) at ACL Essex’s centre in Witham or, in exceptional circumstances we might be able to offer an online option (after school hrs).
